Bryan Gilmore Returns

From the "It's Not Randy Moss...But It's Something" Department:
Bryan Gilmore's back and Taylor Jacobs is gone. This completes Jacobs' stunning fall from clear #3 to off the roster. I'm not sure this is the move that's going to fix the [quote] passing game [unquote], but Gilmore was a guy that both Smith and Dilfer liked playing with and provides some semblance of a vertical threat. Also look for more playing time for Ashley Lelie and Jason Hill when they decide to trade their tube tops and pumps for a jersey and pants.

From the "Response to SportsGuru's Seething Rage" Department:
Great points. But at what stage DO we hit the panic button? I would like to see some progress along the line at some point. If I have to watch Gore dry hump Smiley or Heitmann's back looking for an inch to run through even one more time, I'm going to break something. And, dude...lay off "Timmy".

I for one think this is a tremendous opportunity for the niners. Having Dilfer back there will force the coaching staff to get away from that nonsense, long-ball-threat strategy, and focus more on the short game. Sure, Trent doesn't seem to be able to throw a bullet more than 3-5 yards, but that's all we need -- a triumphant return to the west coast offense is at hand! And as for the interceptions, our defense is actually our best unit right now, so it should actually be a bonus to have those guys on the field as much as possible. Just run-and-gun, Trent, and Gore will always be there for the extra 18" if we get stuck just short of the sticks.

The Allen / Jennings thing is overrated also -- get some young guys in there to take over, it sure is about time. "Strongest player in the NFL" my ass, let's get some youth in! Except Dilfer. In his case, veteran savvy trumps youth. Every. Time.

Also, no need to mess with the coaching, they're doing a fine job of putting game plans together that capitalize on our strengths. In fact, if it wasn't for Smith hanging around for so long, Trent could have been throwing Jacobs long-bombs since day one of this season, and where would we be today I ask you? 7-0. Exactly.

Prospects look bright, my friends. The only thing we really need to tweak is that damn special-teams unit. Nedney is getting a bit old and fragile, and Lee seems to like the power-punt a bit too much. Perhaps the ownership will, pull another one of their blockbuster deals, and get us back Jose Cortez. I know, unlikely that with this set-up and positioning there will be much impetus for acquisitions, but one can always dream for the evolution of "awesome" into "ideal".

Here's to the Dils leading us straight to the playoffs and beyond, and who will be laughing then, I ask you? NFC Championship: '9ers 42, da bears 3.

Duuuuudddeeee...Aaron. Absolutely nothing you said there made any sense. Nothing at all. Proclaiming Dilfer our savior is idiotic, calling for a youth movement and then glorifying Dilfer is hypocritical and our special teams has been ABSOLUTELY NASTY with Lee booming 70 yard bombs on a consistent basis. Do your homework before you say such off-base things...

Clearly "anonymous" has never heard of something called "sarcasm".
